Named after the 1920's French boxer Georges Carpentier who was France’s first world champion boxer, and also nicknamed by the Americans – the Orchid Man. Known for his flamboyance, speed and extremely hard punch, Georges Carpentier is still considered one of the greatest European fighters to ever lace up the gloves. After his boxing career came to an end Georges moved from Paris to Hollywood where he took to the stage. From there he soon made his way to Wall Street. After much success on Wall Street, Carpentier returned to France where he opened one of the first cocktail bars in Paris. A fascinating and multi talented man always looking for adventure, thus an incredible fragrance. Just like boxing, the world of perfume is about facing yourself. An encounter of rituals and studied gestures, even in a moment of violence there is also elegance and art.
HOW IT WEARS
The Orchid Man by Frapin is an Eau de Parfum, which will willingly give you at least 8 hours longevity on the skin, or anything you deem worthy of spritzing it on. Very similar to, but slightly earthier version of Creed’s Aventus, with less of the bright Pineapple note and additional subtle depth of Oakmoss. Definitely in for the long haul this one.
We love how this sweet, spicy scent perfectly reflects the man it was inspired by. A well-balanced combination of physicality and artistry. A man who can definitely look after himself, but also scrubs up alright and will take you out dancing after he’s won the fight. Sophisticated and well measured, with just the right amount of adventurous spirit to balance it out.

The Orchid Man was a nickname of the French boxer Georges Carpentier for the corsages he often wore with his tailored suits. Boxing, like perfume, is about facing yourself. An encounter of rituals and studied gestures. It is also a moment of violence that must be elegant. Governed by precise rules and respect for the opponent, boxing became a gentleman’s sport at the end of the 19th century.
